Ashok Gehlot Slashes LPG Cylinder Prices To Less Than Half In Rajasthan
NDTV
Come April and the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan will provide cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500 for people under the poverty line and those enrolled in the Ujjwala scheme.
The Chief Minister made the announcement today in presence of senior leader Rahul Gandhi, in an implicit criticism of the BJP. Assembly polls will be held in Rajasthan next year.
"I'm prepping for the budget next month... Right now, I want to say only one thing. Under the Ujjwala Scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is providing the poor with LPG connections and gas ovens. But the cylinder remains empty. Because the rates are now between Rs 400 and Rs 1,040," Mr Gehlot said.
