Ashes 2021-22: Dawid Malan did not rule out an England victory in the Gabba Test but stressed that the visitors are not thinking too far ahead. England finished Day 3 at 225/2, trailing Australia by just 58 runs.
England batter Dawid Malan said the visitors are not looking too far ahead after putting up a stunning fight on Day 3 of the first Ashes Test against Australia at the Gabba. Malan said England will look to control the crucial first hour on Day 4 morning and take it an hour at a time after igniting hopes of a dream comeback in the series opener.
England looked down and out as they conceded 425 runs to Australia in their first innings after getting bowled out for 147 inside 2 sessions on the opening day of the Gabba Test. England lost their openers early in the second innings and were reeling at 61/2 but Malan and Root fought back, resisting the Australian charge on Friday.
