Yesterday, February 6 was a sad day for the nation. We are still coming to terms with the fact that legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last at 8:12 am yesterday. The entire nation was left mourning for the singer who touched the heart of millions. A few hours after her demise, Lata's sister and iconic singer Asha Bhosle shared a precious throwback memory with her.
Asha Bhosle shared a precious memory from the days gone by to remember her Lata didi. The snap shared by the singer is from Asha and Lata's childhood. While Asha can be seen sitting on a desk, the late singer can be seen standing next to her. Asha Bhosle captioned the photo as, “Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the. Didi and I (sic)."
Fans soon commented on the picture and remembered the legendary singer. Many left behind many broken heart emojis, while others said they miss Lata didi.
In her seven-decade-long career, she gave us musical gems such as Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo, Lag Jaa Gale, Yeh Kahan Aage Hain Hum and Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, among others. For her exceptional talent, she was honoured with countless awards, including the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 today. She was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19. She was under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the past couple of weeks. After showing signs of improvement recently, her health condition deteriorated and she passed away yesterday, February 6.
