Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday slammed the Karnataka government over its decision to ban the sale of meat in Bengaluru on August 31.
All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday slammed the Karnataka government over its decision to ban the sale of meat in Bengaluru on August 31 for Ganesh Chaturthi.
"This is a government for the wealthy. It [Bengaluru meat ban] is against the right to occupation, livelihood and privacy," Owaisi said.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has imposed a meat and slaughter ban in Bengaluru on August 31 for Ganesh Chaturthi. The ban will be applicable in all areas within the BBMP limits.
Sharing a circular in Kannada, the BBMP had said, "Prohibition of animal slaughter and sale of meat on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi day. On Wednesday, August 31, on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, Joint Director (Animal Husbandry) informed that the slaughtering of animals and sale of meat in sales stalls under Burhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike is completely prohibited."
Earlier, Bengaluru's local administrative body had barred slaughter houses and the sale of meat on Krishna Janmashtami.
