As Indian Hockey Teams Dazzle, Appreciation Posts For Naveen Patnaik

The Odisha government, according to reports, has been the sponsor of both the Indian men's and women's hockey teams since 2018 and has invested around Rs 150 crore. The state's name is on the jerseys.

"It is a matter of pride for the whole country that the women's hockey team has reached the semi-finals of the Olympics for the first time. We, the people of Odisha, are proud of the fact that Odisha has been supporting both national teams since 2014," the Chief Minister tweeted. In the video, Mr Patnaik says: "Congratulations India. What a terrific game our women's hockey team played against Australia. Keep it up. The best of luck."
