As Covid-19 cases in Mumbai rise, BMC asks govt hospitals to increase bed capacity

In view of rising number of Covid-19 cases in Mumbai, the BMC has asked the government hospitals to increase the bed capacity.
Considering the rise in Covid-19 cases in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked the government hospitals to increase its bed capacity to last year’s strength as a preventive measure. The BMC maintains that even though the situation is under control, the number of new Covid-19 cases reported daily in Mumbai has been rising continuously. The recent rise in Covid-19 cases could be due to an increase in testing as well. Dr Ramesh Bharmal, Dean, Nair Hospital, said the civic body would first make use of the Covid-19 jumbo facility which is loaded with all the necessary facilities. “We have a capacity of 107 for now and are taking critical patients as well,” he said.More Related News
