As coronavirus cases rise, expect stricter restrictions in Mumbai soon, says BMC
India Today
With Covid-19 cases increasing in Maharashtra, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials say that stricter restrictions to check the spread of infections may be imposed in Mumbai soon.
At 23,179, Maharashtra recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in 2021 on Thursday. This is close to the peak of 24,886 that Maharashtra recorded in September 2020. Mumbai is also recording a steep rise in cases and saw 2377 new cases and 8 deaths on March 17. While various regions of Maharashtra are witnessing lockdown restrictions, Mumbai hasn’t seen further stricter checks in spite of officials themselves complaining of people not abiding by Covid rules. Today, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation filed an FIR against a restaurant & bar in Mumbai for flouting Covid norms. The BMC fined more than two hundred people in the restaurant for not abiding by Covid rules. The Chief Minister too had said that there will be no more warnings.More Related News
