As CBI probes Bengal SSC recruitment 'scam', candidate hopes to get the job he deserves

While the CBI investigates the West Bengal School Service Commission recruitment scam, Amit Ghosh, a candidate from Murshidabad, moves to Kolkata in the hopes of getting the job he deserves.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the State Service Commission's investigation into the recruitment of Group D personnel in West Bengal. Multiple candidates have called it a scam, alleging that candidates with higher ranks were appointed while those with lower ranks were not.
Amit Ghosh, 28, relocated from Murshidabad to Kolkata in search of work. He is still looking for the government job for which he appears to be qualified but was never hired.
"My initial position was 72. However, when the merit list was released a year later, I was ranked 75th. Candidates ranked 91 to 100 have begun working, but I have not," Ghosh told India Today.

Ghosh further said that the SSC vacancy for Group D and C was 4,000 in 2016. It has now risen to 29,000 due to no recruitment since 2016.
According to the candidate, the first candidates who applied for SSC recruitment for Group D and C in 2016 were given a marksheet and, after filing a case, a merit list.
"The case was filed in 2019. We were initially issued a rank card, and then, a year later, a marksheet, on which my rank had dropped from 75 to 72. We had to fight a case in order to learn about the entire merit list," Ghosh said.
