Yumsen Matey along with his three associates, was in the village when someone approached them and took them to a nearby forest where he was shot dead.
In a major development in the murder case Arunachal Pradesh's former Congress MLA Yumsen Matey, the case has now been transferred to National Investigation Agency.
The state police had sent a proposal to the state government, asking them transfer the case to the anti-terror agency.
"In a bid to ensure a meticulous and thorough investigation, the State Government has taken the crucial step of transferring the case to the (NIA).The Home Department, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, has already forwarded the case to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, through a letter dated December 21, 2023, seeking the necessary directions for the NIA's intervention" the government said in a press statement.
