Arudrotsavam performed at Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada
Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam performed Sri Siva Kama Sundari Sametha Nataraja Swamy Arudrotsavam and Kalyanotsavam atop Indrakeeladri here on Sunday.
The temple priests conducted Moolamantra Havanam (fire ritual), Bali Harana, Upasana, and Mantapa Pujas in the morning. In the evening, the grand Kalyanotsavam of Sri Shiva Kama Sundari Sametha Nataraja Swamy was performed amidst Vedic chants. On the occasion of Margashira Arudra Nakshatram, during the Lingodbhava time, Mahanayasa was performed, and it was followed by Abhishekam, Archana, Nivedana, and Harati for the deity inside the temple. The priests also performed Arudrotsavam for Sri Nataraja Swamy (Abhishekam and Annabhishekam - bathing with rice).
The Kanaka Durga temple has made arrangements for Uttara dwara darshan on Monday.The Uttara dwara darshan (entrance from the northern gate) will begin at around 4 a.m. The temple priests will perform poornahuti at 9.30 a.m., and nagarotsavam (procession of the festival deities) will be conducted in the evening.
