Arrested ex-JNU student Umar Khalid tests positive for coronavirus, isolated within jail

Former Jawaharlal Nehru University student Umar Khalid has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid, arrested in connection with the 2020 Delhi riots, tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday. He has been isolated within the Tihar Jail premises in Delhi, officials said. The 33-year-old had developed Covid-19 symptoms following which an RT-PCR test was conducted for him.
