Army permits veterans with disabilities to trek to Siachen Glacier

Indian Army has cleared a proposal to allow Special Forces veterans to trek to the world’s highest battlefield Siachen Glacier.
In an effort to boost India’s image and to promote tourism, the Indian Army has cleared a proposal to allow the first-ever trek by personnel with disabilities to the world’s highest battlefield, the Siachen Glacier. The proposal for the trek by disabled soldiers was received from a private organization named Conquer Land Air Water (CLAW). CLAW is a private organisation led by Indian Army Special Forces veterans researching the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. A significant number of Para Special Forces operatives get injured while conducting operations or training and their rehabilitation is ensured by the forces.More Related News
