More than 93,000 people died of drug overdoses in the U.S. last year, with fentanyl being a major contributor to that high number. In Pinal County, Sheriff Mark Lamb says they’ve had more overdose deaths than COVID-19 deaths last year.
In Pinal County, Sheriff Mark Lamb told Fox News they had more overdoses than COVID-19 deaths last year. Their deputies now respond to a call involving fentanyl every 40 hours.
"Honestly, we're seeing a disaster," said Lamb. "Eighty-five percent of the people that are in my jail right now are there because of alcohol or drugs. So yeah, it's a big impact in our communities."
