Archana Puran Singh remains mum on The Kashmir Files VS The Kapil Sharma Show controversy
India Today
Archana Puran Singh refused to comment on the controversy between The Kashmir Files and The Kapil Sharma Show. Actor Anupam Kher had cleared the air around the same.
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files has gone on to become one of the most critically and commercially successful films of 2022. The film has managed to touch the Rs 168 crore mark on its 10th day and trade analysts predict that the film will touch Rs 200 crore soon. While the film released amid many hiccups, netizens are still reminded of The Kashmir Files and The Kapil Sharma Show (TKSS) controversy. After the debacle came to a standstill, TKSS star Archana Puran Singh refused to comment over the ‘almost forgotten’ matter.
Kapil Sharma was a victim of brutal trolling when Vivek Agnihotri tweeted that the former refused to invite The Kashmir Files cast on The Kapil Sharma Show. Later, Anupam Kher clarified in an interview that the comedian did invite him to the show to promote the film but he turned it down instead. Archana Puran Singh, who is a pivotal part of TKSS, was asked by BollywoodLife if she felt the film deserved to be promoted on the show. Archana chose to remain tight-lipped on the matter and replied, “No comments”.
The Kashmir Files released on March 11, 2022. Few days prior to the release, fans took to social media and requested director Vivek Agnihotri to promote the film on The Kapil Sharma Show. However, Vivek claimed that he and the team were not invited to be a part of the comedy show. His tweet could be read, “I don’t get to decide who should be invited on @KapilSharmaK9 show. It’s his and his producer’s choice whom he wants to invite. As far as Bollywood is concerned, I’d say what once Mr. Bachchan was quoted saying about Gandhis: Vo raja hai hum rank (sic)."

Prior to that, he wrote in a tweet, “They refused to call us on their show because we don’t have big commercial star. #FACT (sic)." And soon after, ‘Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show' trended all over Twitter.
