Cairo: The Arab League condemned in the strongest terms the announcement issued by the Israeli Knesset today, rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state, stressing that this announcement, and the invalid justifications it contained, only reveal the true face of the Israeli occupation and its intentions towards the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, foremost of which is obtaining their independent state on their land occupied since June 4, 1967.
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit stressed in a statement that this announcement, which coincided with the storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, comes as a continuation of the Israeli entity's efforts to completely overturn all signed agreements and international law.
Aboul Gheit considered that this aims to legitimize the Israeli occupation of Palestine, normalize the desecration of Palestinian sanctities and undermine the two-state solution in rejection of the peace sought by the international community.
The Israeli Knesset had approved a draft resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state.
