The Central government has appointed several new chiefs and directors to some of the top Central departments, including NITI Aayog and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Here's a list of the officials.
In the last two days, the central government has appointed several new chiefs and directors to some of the top central departments, including NITI Aayog and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The Centre also appointed a Special Security (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs. In another development, the tenure of the secretary of the intelligence agency's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) was extended by another year.
The government also appointed a new director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved these appointments and the officials will take up their respective offices on the prescribed date.
Here's a list of the new officials:
IAS officer Parameswaran Iyer was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog on Friday. Iyer's term will begin upon the completion of current CEO Amitabh Kant's tenure on June 30, 2022.
Iyer, a 1981-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre and a well-known sanitation specialist. He had resigned from the post of Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary in July last year.
Senior IPS officer Dinkar Gupta was appointed the Director-General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by the Centre on Thursday.
