Apple has changed the way the battery is fixed to the MacBook Pro and because of that, it is repair-friendly.
Apple’s new MacBook Pro is winning several accolades, thanks to its improved design that is friendlier and the new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors that give it better performance. But, is the 2021 MacBook Pro easy to repair? iFixit, the teardown company, has taken up tearing down the new MacBook Pro. And in its report, iFixit said the MacBook Pro has “the first reasonably DIY-friendly battery replacement procedure since 2012.”
That means that it is easy to take out a faulty battery from the MacBook Pro and replace it with another, something that users will appreciate if they ever run into a hardware issue with Apple’s latest laptop. In its report, iFixit mentioned that Apple began glueing the battery to the top case of the MacBook Pro since the Retina MacBook Pro in 2012, but this time, Apple has gone the other way, at least partially. The MacBook Pro battery comes with pull tabs.
