Tamil Nadu governor RN Ravi spoke about how there should be zero tolerance towards violence and no negotiation with any armed group.
Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi advocated the Tamil Nadu government’s “zero tolerance” policy to violence at an event in Kochi on Sunday (July 31).
At the event, he said that the state government has not held any single talks with any armed group in last 8 years unless it is for surrender.
He said, “...Zero tolerance to violence. Anyone who uses a gun should be dealt with a gun. No negotiation with anyone who talks against unity & integrity of the country. No talks with any armed group in last 8 years, if only for surrender.”
Ravi, who was the former Governor of Nagaland, said that anyone who uses a gun will be dealt with a gun.
Hitting out at the Congress government when the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack happened, the Tamil Nadu Governor said, “When 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack happened, the whole country was traumatised; the country was humiliated by a handful of terrorists. Within 9 months of the attacks, our then PM & Pak PM signed a joint communique stating both countries were victims of terrorism. What is this? It has to be clear if Pakistan is a friend or an enemy.”
“After Pulwama attack, we hit back at Pak in Balakot using air power. The message was that if you commit an act of terrorism you will have to pay the cost,” added the Tamil Nadu Gov at the event.
