Anushka Sharma has chosen women’s cricket champion, Jhulan Goswami’s biopic to make her film comeback after a 3-year break. The film titled Chakda Xpress will focus on the hardships and challenges Jhulan had to face to make a place for herself in the world of cricket. Of late, the sports star is busy creating records in the history of women’s cricket. On Saturday, she broke the record for most wickets in the Women's World Cup against West Indies. Anushka took to her Instagram stories to laud her ‘champion’.
Anushka has often shared many a glimpse of her prep sessions for Chakda Xpress. The film is based on women’s cricket champion, Jhulan Goswami’s life. Amid the ongoing Women’s World Cup, Jhulan Goswami achieved a new feat for most wickets. She raced past Australia's Lynn Fullston for the same. Anushka Sharma took to Instagram to laud Jhulan and called a “champion”.
Hours before Jhulan created history, Anushka was seen rooting for the team on her Instagram stories. Amid a plain blue backdrop, the actress wrote, “What an amazing win girls! All the very best for the next match!! (sic)."
Anushka Sharma returns to cinema after a three-year break from films. In an attempt to perfect her role as Jhulan Goswami in Chakda Xpress, she posted a video from her practice sessions. The actress wrote, “Get-Sweat-Go! #ChakdaXpress #prep getting hard and intense as we are counting days @netflix_in @jhulangoswami @officialcsfilms @prositroy @kans26 (sic).”
