Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap collaborated with Karan Johar on Bombay Velvet. For those unaware, KJo played a villain in the film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. In a recent interview, Anurag opened up about his bond with Karan Johar and called him a 'misunderstood person'. Kashyap went on to reveal that he judged Karan a lot, who is often trolled on social media for various reasons. He spoke highly about Johar and heaped praise on him.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Anurag Kashyap said, "I’ve judged him a lot. When I met him, I found him to be like me but on the other side of the coin. He also treats his filmmakers, people, and his directors and gives them as much freedom and empowerment. He is a misunderstood person. The most amazing thing about him is he has his own critic. Today, the creative head of Dharmatics Somen Mishra was the biggest Karan Johar critic and what Karan Johar did was hire him. That is a sign of a visionary and a courageous man."
Anurag Kashyap's latest film, Dobaaraa, has released in theatres today [August 19]. The movie, featuring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati, has opened to good reviews from the critics. Taapsee is being lauded for her performance in the movie. Dobaaraa is the official remake of the 2018 Spanish film, Mirage.
