Another woman has raised allegations of harassment against Kerala actor Vijay Babu, who is on the run following a police complaint filed by a woman actor, accusing him of rape and sexual assault.
Days after a woman accused Malayalam actor-producer Vijay Babu of sexual assault and abuse, another woman came forward alleging harassment during a work-related meeting. In a #MeToo Kerala Instagram post, the survivor said the actor tried to kiss her even when he knew her for barely 20-30 minutes.
She said the incident shocked her to the core and even kept her away from the film industry. According to her, she revealed the incident after the actor, who filed a police complaint against Vijay Babu, faced ridicule from a section of society.

“He was drinking alcohol and offered it to me as well. I refused and continued working. Suddenly, he just leaned to kiss me on my lips, without any question, without any consent. Luckily, my reflex action was super quick and I just pulled myself backwards and maintained a distance from him. I looked into his face, and he then asked me: Just one kiss?" she said in a post.
Meanwhile, the actor has moved Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail after police issued a lookout notice. The actor is absconding and has flown abroad as soon as the case was registered against him in Kochi.
The initial incident concerning the actress reportedly happened in April. Vijay Babu allegedly abused her sexually and assaulted her. The survivor, in a post on the Facebook group named Women Against Sexual Harassment, had elaborated on the details of the alleged sexual assault.
On top of the sexual assault allegations, Vijay Babu also broke the law by mentioning the victim's name during a Facebook live. The law prohibits anyone from publicly revealing the victim's name and by revealing her identity, Vijay Babu has invited additional charges against him.
