A driver is accused of travelling more than 70km/h over the speed limit on Highway 11 on Friday, provincial police say.
A driver is accused of travelling more than 70km/h over the speed limit on Highway 11 on Friday, provincial police say.
“Temiskaming OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) stopped (a) motorist on Highway 11 near Temagami Friday,” police said on ‘X’ formerly called Twitter.
“The vehicle was impounded and the person's licence was suspended.”
OPP officials in northern Ontario have said stunt driving in the region is rising after a pandemic pause.
The photo accompanying the social media post indicates the driver was travelling 163km/h in a 90km/h zone.
The driver received a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days per provincial regulations.
“Slow down and arrive alive,” said police.
