The 50th Annual Bangalore Cake Show is back in Bengaluru to showcase the artistic prowess of bakers across India. Started by C. Ramachandra, the event is a celebration of creativity and craftsmanship, featuring elaborate edible masterpieces that redefine cake design.
Organised by the Institute of Baking and Cake Art (IBCA) and MyBakersMart, the event is the culmination of months of preparation, showcasing the boundless possibilities of sugar and fondant as art mediums.
This Year’s Theme, ‘A Celebration of Art,’ showcases 20 meticulously crafted cakes from varying themes. Manish Gaur, one of the event’s organisers, said, “The theme is called ‘Art’, and art can be interpreted in many ways, from nature, jewellery, music, to fashion.”
“With this event we try to cater to all age groups and show how fun can also be related to a cake,” he further added.
Some of the highlights from the event include ‘The Enchanted Christmas Tree,’ a 20-foot-tall marvel adorned with edible ornaments, marshmallows, and a working toy train around its base, and ‘Ram Mandir: A Sacred Tribute,’ an 850-kilo masterpiece replicating the intricate temple architecture with sugar craft and elements like lions, elephants, and Hanuman.
From a sugar-built ‘Glass House Garden’ to the ‘Kempegowda Legacy’ celebrating Bangalore’s founder, each exhibit reflects hours of intricate craftsmanship by teams of talented artists, including celebrated names like Santanu, Mahesh, Purva, and Narmatha.
The 50th Annual Cake Show is a spectacular milestone and a continuing legacy of innovation and inspiration.
