Android 12 now comes with Privacy Dashboard to keep apps in check, takes a step closer to iOS-like privacy

Android 12's Privacy Dashboard intends to inform users about the data collected by any app which runs in the background. It will also give users insight on when their device’s tools -- the camera, mic, and location were accessed and for how long.
Google on Tuesday announced a host of new privacy features for Android 12 at the company’s annual developer conference, Google I/O. One of these features is the Privacy Dashboard which intends to inform users about the data collected by any app which runs in the background. Google will also be asking developers to provide additional information on what they were using the access for at that particular moment. It will also give users insight into when these tools were accessed and for how long. The Privacy Dashboard will enable users to see which apps used potentially sensitive permissions in the past 24 hours. The dashboard will break down the activity into categories like Location, Camera, and Microphone and will then show its users which apps accessed these tools. Google has also introduced new toggles in Quick Settings, so users can completely disable sensors for every app even if users gave them permission in the past.More Related News
