The Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) two-day political conference ‘Mahanadu’ begins on Friday, May 27 in Ongole. The party has called over 11,000 functionaries to take part in the event.
The event also coincides with the birth centennial of party founder and former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao (NTR).
Marking the centenary, the TDP will end its ‘Mahanadu’ with a mega-public meeting. On Thursday, Chandrababu Naidu was accorded a grand welcome where he gave the slogan “Quit Jagan, Save Andhra Pradesh.”
The TDP national president led a massive rally from Vijayawada to the Mahanadu venue in Ongole.
Mentioning the recent violence over the proposed renaming of a district, he alleged, “YSRCP goons set fire to the lush, green Konaseema district.”
The TDP chief accused the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders of burning their own homes only to start a mudslinging campaign against the Telugu Desam for narrow political gains.
“Jagan Reddy cannot rule the state anymore, which was why the inefficient Chief Minister was planning for midterm elections,” said Naidu.
