The Andhra Pradesh High Court has stayed the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections across the state.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday stayed the notification of the State Election Commissioner on Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections. Newly appointed State Election chief Nilam Sawhney had earlier issued a notification announcing MPTCs and ZPTCs polls. The polling was scheduled for April 8 and the counting of votes on April 10. Justice U Durga Prasad granted an interim stay on petitions filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jana Sena, challenging the April 1 notification of the State Election Commission, resuming the parishad election process that was deferred in March 2020.More Related News
