A property dispute in the family could have been the reason for the extreme step, according to the police.
"The woman decided to take the extreme step as she was unhappy with her mother-in-law for allegedly refusing to give 'her share' in the property. Chinamani's mother-in-law wanted to share the major proportion of her property with her daughter and wished to give the remaining to her son," Sub-Inspector (SI) Pari Naidu, Jalmuru, said, as reported by news agency ANI.
Police have registered a case and further investigation into the matter is on.
