Andhra police cracks Rs 3 Cr robbery, one arrested with 6.4 kg gold

Andhra police, with the help of Chhattisgarh police, managed to nab an accused who was involved in robbing a jewellery store in Andhra’s Vizianagaram. Lokesh was arrested with 6.4kg of gold worth Rs 3 crores.
Andhra Pradesh police, on Thursday, February 24, cracked a robbery case and recovered gold jewellery worth around Rs 3 crore from Kawardha in Chhattisgarh.
The thieves, on Tuesday night, had robbed a famous jewellery shop in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. Upon discovering the theft, a manhunt was launched to nab all the ten accused.
Acting on a specific tip-off, Chhattisgarh police arrested a habitual offender, Lokesh Shrivas, with 6 kgs and 400 grams of gold in his possession.
Upon probing, it was discovered that since 2006, the accused Lokesh had been continuously involved in criminal activity.
According to Durg (CG) range Inspector-General OP Paul, the accused is a resident of Kailashnagar of Kawardha. He was also banished by Chattisgarh’s Kabirdham district police in 2019 from entering the district limits.
