The Kalyandurg Police in Andhra Pradesh have booked opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh for instigating people over an incident where a dalit family's child had died due to the vehicular restrictions put by the police for a minister’s welcome rally.
The Kalyandurg Police in Andhra Pradesh have booked opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh under Section 153 (read with 34) of the Indian Penal Code.
Naidu and Lokesh had tweeted and condemned a reported incident where a dalit family claimed their child had died due to the vehicular restrictions enforced by the police during the welcome rally procession for newly appointed Women and Child Welfare Minister KV Usha Sricharan.
However, the district Superintendent of Police, Fakkeerappa, released the CCTV footage of the timeline, denying the allegations and saying, “They reached the hospital unhindered.” Fakkeerappa also issued a tweet with a video showing that the couple, who were on a bike, were allowed to pass the police barricade.
