
Andhra Governor expresses concern over increase of infant deaths in village near Visakhapatnam

The rise in infant deaths was a result of calcium deficiency in mothers and water contamination due to rusty pipes. Steps have been taken to rectify the situation.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan expressed concern over the rise in infant deaths in Patharudakota village in Peda Bayalu Mandal of Visakhapatnam district.
He instructed RP Sisodia, special chief secretary to the governor, to obtain a detailed report from the secretary of tribal welfare on the issue.
