
Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy makes health, infrastructure investment pitch in Davos

The Andhra Chief Minister pitched for investments in health and infrastructure sectors in the state at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
On the first day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) meet in Davos, Andhra Pradesh Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met with various global industry leaders and sought various investment opportunities for the state in sectors such as healthcare, infrastructure development and port-led industrialisation.
The Chief Minister was looking to scale up the state-wide health initiatives and to set up Multi-Specialty Hospitals across the districts in the state.Reddy also inaugurated the ‘AP Pavilion’ with the theme 'People, Progress and Possibilities' to attract visitors to the investment opportunities the state presents.
The chief minister also sought investment in education and skilling and discussed how to leverage the WEF platform to meet the environmental and social governance objectives of the state.Reddy also met with Prof. Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman, WEF at Davos Congress Centre. Schwab had emphasized the important role the state of Andhra Pradesh could play in addressing the food shortages. The WEF executive chairman also welcomed the advanced manufacturing partnership and extended commitment of the WEF during the meeting of the objectives laid out in the agreement.
The Chief Minister also met Dr. Shyam Bishen, Head of Health and Healthcare, World Economic Forum and discussed collaborating with the forum on healthcare, biotechnology and innovation.
Investment opportunities regarding global diversification of the supply chains were also discussed.The Chief Minister also emphasized the state’s first rank on the Ease of doing business ranking along with the port-led infrastructure and accessibility to the ports, saying that Andhra Pradesh is the ideal destination acting as the gateway to the east.Read | Karnataka holds number one position in FDI inflow, says CM Bommai ahead of Davos visit
