Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to share a vintage picture with Jaya Bachchan on their 49th wedding anniversary. He thanked his fans for their wishes.

Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating 49 years of togetherness with Jaya Bachchan. He shared an old picture from his wedding album on social media on the occasion and also thanked his fans for their wishes. Amitabh and Jaya got married on June 3, 1973, in an intimate ceremony.

Amitabh Bachchan often shares vintage pictures with his wife Jaya. On their 49th wedding anniversary, the actor shared a throwback photo from their wedding along with a picture of himself where he can be seen bowing down his head with folded hands. He wrote in Hindi, "Jaya aur meri, vivah jayanti pe jo sneh aur aadar pradaan kiya gaya hai uske liye haath jod kar pranaam karta hoon. Dhanyawaad. Sab ko uttar na de payenge, iss ke liye yahaan pratikriya, prativachan, sweekar karein (I bow to you all for the love and affection on my and Jaya's wedding anniversary. Thanks! Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan have worked in more than a dozen films together. The two fell in love while they were shooting for Hrishikesh Mukherjee's film Guddi (1971). They then worked in the 1972 film Ek Nazar, during which their relationship strengthened.

The couple tied the knot on June 3, 1973, in a private ceremony, which was attended by a few friends and family members. Soon after their intimate wedding, Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan left for London.
