Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a review meeting on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed officials in the security establishment to ensure zero cross-border infiltration in J&K in order to eliminate terrorism in the valley, after a significant reduction in the number of terror activities in the last three years.
The number of terror incidents in J&K has declined from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021, while the number of security forces personnel killed in action has reduced from 91 in 2018 to 42 in 2021, sources within the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday chaired a review meeting on the security situation in the UT in the presence of J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and other senior officers of the Government of India, including the Army and state government officials.

"Amit Shah appreciated the efforts of the security agencies which have led to the reduction in terror incidents in Jammu & Kashmir over the last few years," the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in a statement.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also directed officials concerned to ensure that the security grid should be further strengthened to ensure zero cross-border infiltration and to eliminate terrorism.
He also took stock of the progress of the various development initiatives undertaken in Jammu and Kashmir.
