Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani participated in the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly at its 79th session, which was held this morning at the organization’s headquarters in New York, in the presence of a number of Their Majesties, Excellencies, Highnesses and Excellencies, leaders of countries, heads of government, delegations and representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations.
HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered a speech at the session. The speech reads as follows:

At the outset, I would like to congratulate His Excellency Mr. Philemon Yang on assuming the presidency of the seventy-ninth session of the General Assembly, wishing him every success in his tasks.
