Amidst Covid spike, Kerala administers over 5 lakh vaccines in a day

On Friday, Kerala administered 5.05 lakh vaccines to eligible persons, surpassing its previous record of the most number of vaccines given in a day.

Amidst an alarming spike in Covid-19 cases, Kerala has outdone its record of the most number of coronavirus vaccines administered in a single day. On Friday, the state administered 5.05 lakh vaccines to eligible members of its population. The state also reported 20,772 fresh Covid-19 cases. "3,41,753 first doses and 1,63,002 second doses were administered on Friday. Earlier on July 24, we had given 4.91 lakh doses of vaccines in a single day. If we get more vaccines, we will be able to administer vaccines at this pace," said state Health Minister Veena George.
