The Delhi government will be issuing fresh guidelines to schools amidst a rise in Covid-19 infections.
Fresh guidelines will soon be issued for schools in Delhi by the state government considering the reports regarding some students testing positive for covid-19 in Delhi-NCR. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia took note of the ‘slight’ increase in Covid-19 cases across the state and directed the state education department to issue guidelines regarding the same on Friday.
Saying that the situation is being closely monitored by the government, both Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia urged people to not panic as there has been no rise in hospitalisation.
Addressing reporters, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said, “Covid-19 cases have slightly increased but there is no rise in hospitalisation, so we need not worry.”
Urging for the public to remain calm, he said, “There is no need to panic but (we have to) stay alert. We have to learn to live with Covid. We are constantly monitoring the situation.”
“I have got reports from a few schools in the past few days where parents have been informed about their child testing positive. The education department will tomorrow issue guidelines to schools in this regard,” he informed further.
Delhi witnessed a 118% increase in the number of Covid-19 cases over the period of days at 299 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday.
The data publicised by the city health department stated that the positivity rate stands at 2.49 percent.
