Amid Omicron scare, Odisha govt withholds decision to reopen schools for Classes 1 to 5

Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases and the threat of Omicron, the Odisha government on Sunday put on hold the decision to reopen schools for classes 1 to 5.
In view of the rising Covid-19 cases and Omicron variant cases, the Odisha government has decided to withhold its decision to reopen schools. Earlier, the state government announced to reopen schools for students of Classes 1 to 5 from January 3, 2022.
As per reports, the decision was taken after officials visited various primary schools and held talks with the stakeholders, said the school and mass education minister S R Dash.
