Shah Rukh Khan fans dug out an old video of the actor talking about entering Hollywood. This comes in after South star Mahesh Babu's viral comment about not accepting Hindi films because 'Bollywood cannot afford him'. In the video of SRK, he can be heard saying that he feels he is not talented enough to do Hollywood films. Talk about being humble!
In a video shared on Reddit, Shah Rukh Khan can be heard listing various reasons why he cannot be a part of Hollywood. The video, which is from 14 years ago, shows SRK at an international event interacting with the media. He starts by saying that his "English is not great."
He then says that he does not know either Kung fu or Latin Salsa and feels he is not talented enough to enter Hollywood.
The actor tells the media, "If they give me a role of a dumb person who doesn't speak, maybe. I am not trying to be modest but I am 42 years old, I am little brown, I don't have any special USP as an actor. I don't know Kung fu, I don't dance the Latin salsa, I am not tall enough. I think anyone who is my age in the western world, I have seen recent films of Europe, films of what you call ‘the dream factory’, I think there is no space for me. There is no place for me because I don't think I am that talented."
He ends by saying that instead of being a part of Hollywood, he would love to bring Indian cinema to the world. He says, "So I would like to continue doing work in India and, hopefully, I will take Indian cinema to the world. That's the ambition I have."
Recently, Mahesh Babu spoke about his plans to venture into OTT. He said that he is meant for the big screen and wouldn't think about foraying into digital space. In a media interaction, Mahesh Babu spilled the beans about making his Hindi debut. He said that 'Bollywood cannot afford him'.
