Amid leadership crisis, AIADMK cadres begin 'poster war' in Tamil Nadu
India Today
Posters sprang up in Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram against EPS and his supporters. EPS and OPS camps have been at loggedheads over the former's proposal to abolish the dual leadership structure within AIADMK.
After two senior leaders, O Panneerselvam and Edappadi K Palaniswami, ceased to be coordinator and co-cordinator of the party, AIADMK cadres supporting the two leaders and the factions they lead, have started putting up posters in support of their leader.
On Friday, posters sprang up in several parts of Ramanathapuram by the OPS faction condemning EPS and his supporters. The rift within AIADMK started when OPS opposed EPS's proposal to abolish the dual leadership structure and appoint a single leader, as was the case when Jayalalithaa was at the helm of affairs.

The poster condemned the 'unruly behaviour' that was on display during the general council meeting on June 23. The poster stated that EPS, KP Munusamy, D Jayakumar, CV Shanmugam, SP Velumani need to be arrested for going against the by-laws of the party.
The posters also blamed the EPS faction as the grassroots cadres would not be able to use two leaves (party symbol) in the local body bypolls as the nomination papers were not signed by the two leaders. The party has, however, maintained that they (OPS and EPS) do not hold leadership posts anymore and could not sign the papers.
Amid all this, EPS changed his party designation from joint coordinator to Headquarters secretary. In a letter yesterday to OPS, EPS had said that OPS was no longer the coordinator but was only the treasurer of the party.
