After Sudiksha Konanki's Dominican Republic disappearance, Americans planning spring break travel trips abroad should follow certain guidance to stay safe, one expert said.

Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student from Virginia who was on spring break in the Dominican Republic, disappeared from the Riu Republica Resort in Punta Cana in the early morning hours of March 6. Previously, he was a public relations executive and a reporter at The Tennessee Star.
He graduated from Elon University in 2014.
