Ambedkar University has adopted three villages in the national capital where the university will provide legal aid clinics, medical camps, and other facilities.
Ambedkar University has adopted three villages in the national capital where the Delhi government-run university will organize legal aid clinics, medical camps, and several other events for the people. The university has established an Outreach and Extension Division as a part of its eddoes to reach a wider community in Delhi.
The Vice-Chancellor of Ambedkar University said that the institution has adopted three villages: Jawahar Camp, Chuna Bhatti, and 5/35 Kriti Nagar.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, Ambedkar University organized a programme in the slum cluster of the Jawahar Camp, where the faculty members interacted with women and children.
Ambedkar University's VC assured the women that legal awareness camps, legal aid, clines, medical camps, etc will be organised by the university to help children, women, and the elderly.
Further, there are plans to start an 'Academics on Wheels' initiative to take classrooms to the neighborhood. This will include holding workshops on the Constitution, Digital literacy events, entrepreneurial lessons, etc.
The university will also implement a programme in which it will encourage students to volunteer as mentors to the children of the slum clusters.
