Social Welfare Minister expedites construction at Ambedkar Smriti Vanam, highlighting TDP government's commitment to Ambedkar's ideals.
Social Welfare Minister Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy has said that the construction works undertaken at the Ambedkar Smriti Vanam will be expedited and completed soon.
The Minister, along with Vijayawada (Central) MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and others, visited the Ambedkar Smriti Vanam on Tuesday.
Addressing the media, the Minister mentioned that the TDP government, during its previous tenure, had taken steps to install the largest Ambedkar statue in the country in Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amaravati. “Accordingly, land was allotted in Amaravati, and the construction works commenced. However, the previous government abandoned the project and set it up in Vijayawada,” he said.
The previous YSRCP government had deceived the people by inaugurating the project before its completion. “Many works related to this project are still pending. They will be completed soon. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is working in line with Ambedkar’s ideals, and the coalition government is governing the State as per the people’s aspirations,” he added.

“Earth Day celebrations have already started in Bengaluru, with campaigns at various colleges such as St. Josephs, and Christ University where life-size elephants made from the invasive species, Lantana Camera, have been travelling to spread the message of conservation and coexistence, along with expert talks from WWF India and Ravi Chellam of Metastring Foundation,” said the release.
