Defending a mammoth 357-run target, the Aussies bowled out England for 285 in 43.4 overs to clinch the elusive title.
Opener Alyssa Healy smashed a record 170 as Australia routed England by 71 runs to claim their seventh Women's World Cup win at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Sunday (April 3).
Healy's belligerent 138-ball innings, which was studded with as many as 26 boundaries, is the highest total in a World Cup final and it helped Australia set a mammoth victory target of 357 which proved well beyond England despite a fighting century by Nat Sciver.
Sciver's unbeaten 148 entertained the crowd but she lacked support from her top-order colleagues, and England were bowled out for 285 with six overs to spare.
