The "American Pie" actor said it's not that "big of a leap" to assume the pop star's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, has also seen the comedy film.
Alyson Hannigan recalled having a total Swiftie moment after Taylor Swift shouted out the 1999 comedy film “American Pie” in one of her songs.
Hannigan, who starred as Michelle Flaherty in the “American Pie” franchise, told Vulture in an interview published Thursday that she had a “freakout” after Swift mentioned the movie in “So High School,” a song from the pop star’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”
In the track, Swift sings, “I’m watching ‘American Pie’ with you on a Saturday night / Your friends are around, so be quiet.”
In her Vulture interview, Hannigan revealed she stayed up late to listen to “The Tortured Poets Department” when it first dropped, only to fall asleep and wake up to Swift having released the album’s second part, “The Anthology,” which contained 15 more tracks, including “So High School.”
“I started listening to it, and when I got to ‘So High School,’ I was like, ‘What?!’” Hannigan recalled. “I thought maybe I was still sort of sleeping and imagining it. But when I heard it, I was freaking out. I woke up my entire family, who seemed less enthusiastic than I’d like them to be. Then I called a friend, and she and I had a nice freakout together.”
