
Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair sent to 14-day judicial custody by UP court

Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of Alt News, was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a Lakhimpur Kheri court on Monday.
The co-founder of Alt News, Mohammed Zubair, was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a Lakhimpur Kheri court in Uttar Pradesh in a case registered against him in September last year. The court will hear Zubair’s bail plea on July 13.
Mohammed Zubair was presented before the court via video conferencing from Sitapur jail and sections 153B, 505(1) (B) and 505(2) were added to the FIR against him. Mohammad Zubair was arrested by Delhi Police in June for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through one of his tweets.
A court in Lakhimpur Kheri had summoned Mohammed Zubair in a case registered last year on the charge of promoting enmity.
