Almost 2 dozen arrested after gunfire erupts in Toronto's west end

Toronto police say they have arrested nearly two dozen people and seized multiple firearms after what investigators are calling an exchange of gunfire on Queen Street West.
Nobody was shot, police said, but at some point an unmarked police car was struck by gunfire.
Police are set to provide more information later Tuesday morning.
They said officers were called to Queen Street W. and Sudbury Street around 11:20 p.m., and the resulting investigation has shut down the normally-busy Queen route during the morning commute.
One person was taken to hospital but was found to have no injuries, police said in an email to CBC Toronto.
Three Ontario police associations released a statement Wednesday calling on the federal government to implement stricter bail policies, after plainclothes Toronto police officers were caught in a gunfight between two groups in the city's west end Monday night while conducting a unrelated bail compliance check.
