India Today
A Bhuj-bound Alliance Air flight took off from the Mumbai airport without its engine cover on Wednesday.
A four-year-old Alliance Air flight took off without engine cover on Wednesday. The Bhuj-bound flight took off from Mumbai carrying 70 passengers.
Keeping in mind the unavoidable mishap, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has initiated a probe.
The incident took place in the only Bhuj-bound aircraft that landed in Mumbai.
Captain Amit Singh, an aviation expert, blamed poor maintenance work for the incident and told ANI, “Incidents of cowl separation usually occur post maintenance activity if latches are not secured. The crew is also expected to ensure that the engine cowl is seated before commencing the flight.”
