The regulator, in an affidavit, said that no listed Adani company is part of 2016 probe involving 51 firms.
Market regulator SEBI today told the Supreme Court that claims of it probing the Adani Group since 2016 are "factually baseless". The regulator, in an affidavit, said that no listed Adani company is part of 2016 probe involving 51 firms.
The Supreme Court is hearing SEBI's request seeking more time to probe allegations against the Adani Group.
The Supreme Court had on March 2 asked the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to conclude within two months its probe into allegations levelled by US short-seller Hindenburg Research against Adani Group.
In February, SEBI had said it has observed "unusual price movement in stocks of a business conglomerate". The remarks came as Adani group companies saw their share prices fall after a US short-seller report critical of the group's finances.
