Chinese internet giant Alibaba is reducing the price of its AI visual language model Qwen-VL.
Chinese internet giant Alibaba is reducing the price of its AI visual language model Qwen-VL by up to 85%, reported CNBC, citing a WeChat post by the cloud computing division, Alibaba Cloud.
Qwen-VL can process both text and image media formats, and this is not the first time Alibaba has reduced the price of one of its AI models.
The move is being interpreted as an attempt to draw in customers as other Chinese internet giants such as Baidu, Huawei, and Tencent also develop AI products and models of their own.
“Qwen-VL is the large vision language model of the Qwen series. It generates content based on images, text, and bounding boxes as input. With leading performance verified by multiple evaluation benchmarks, Qwen-VL can perform fine-grained text recognition in both Chinese and English, compare and analyze these images, then create stories, solve math problems, or answer questions,” said Alibaba about the model on its website.
Other options include Alibaba’s Qwen and Qwen-Audio models.
