Algiers: Abdelmadjid Tebboune has called for holding presidential elections on Sept. 7.
In a statement on Saturday, the Presidency of the Republic of Algeria highlighted that President Tebboune signed a presidential decree that included summoning the electoral body to conduct advance presidential elections on Sept. 7, in addition to embarking on the exceptional review of electoral lists starting from Jun. 12 until 27.
Last March, the Algerian President announced that the country would conduct snap presidential elections on Sept. 7, 2024, three months prior to their predetermined schedule without mentioning the reasons.
